GURU’S – MASTERS OF INDIAN CUISINE
Guru’s Indian Restaurant offers real taste of the authentic Indian cuisine in Coffs Harbour. The inspiration to open Guru’s came in part from being captivated by the beauty of the region, and the heartfelt desire to share India’s exotic cuisine – fresh from the kitchen. The restaurant is owned and managed by Sonal Arora and Somnath Bhaskar, who are born and brought up in India and have found their new home in Coffs Harbour. Som is a chef with 14 years of professional experience in prestigious 5 star hotels like Oberoi. Sonal is the Restaurateur.
During their initial days in the city, the couple had to arrange the Indian grocery with much difficulty, so from there came the idea to open an Indian grocery store. They opened their Indian grocery store “OM NAMAH” on 3rd December 2012. The fondness for Indian spices made the customers curious to try Indian recipes at their home kitchen and it gave immense satisfaction to the couple when they shared ‘What & How’ of Indian cooking. Sonal and Som’s mission has always been to introduce others to the intriguing flavors that have been part of a centuries old family tradition. They want their customers to explore, indulge and even recreate some of their specialty dishes.
